Hi! My name is Mariza Halliday, but everyone calls me Maz for short. Welcome to Caffeine and Fairydust – I am so glad you decided to drop by…

Caffeine and Fairydust is a lifestyle and parenting blog that was created in 2014 as a way to document my journey through this crazy storm called “parenting”. I started it as a way to connect with other like-minded moms, and to feel a little less alone. I did not fit into the perfect parent category and I could never master the monochrome flat lay baby photo’s or poop coloured Instagram filters… so I started my own tribe – and here you are.

My readers describe Caffeine and Fairydust as being relatable, raw, funny and honest – showing more than just the highlight reels of life. If it’s your first time here, let me try give you a summary:

  • I have a bit of a potty mouth
  • I have a lot of tattoos
  • I am pro LGTB and vocal about it
  • I hate Trump
  • I am a feminist
  • I used to be bullied myself, and do not tolerate bullying on my online spaces at all
  • I suffer from really bad anxiety and depression
  • I’ve had two babies in the NICU and the experience had a profound impact on my life
  • I just want to make people laugh
  • I love reading
  • I have an obsession with cleaning and cleaning products
  • I struggle to be body positive
  • I love anything rose scented
  • I tell it as it is, my rose tinted glasses broke quite some time ago
  • I have a shopping addiction

Follow me on Instagram to watch daily stories! This is where I show clips from our day to day shenanigans

I am a mom of three crazy, but absolutely stunning kids – Mikayla (9), Knox (5) & Nova (1) and married to my best friend. We followed our wildest dream and packed up our lives back in South Africa to make a new life for ourselves here in Ireland. We live in an idyllic little village and we absolutely could not be happier. I run my own digital agency offering web design and social media management in-between changing nappies, cleaning all the mess and trying to not fail at this parenting gig. This blog is more than just a passion project for me. I always hope my commitment to my blog, readers and the brands that trust us with their stories is evident in the work I do.
